ALPHATHETA UNVEILS THE CDJ-1500X
Their brand new, compact professional DJ player, built for the modern booth
AlphaTheta has announced the launch of the CDJ-1500X, a new professional DJ multi player that combines flagship-level performance with a compact footprint, making it ideal for smaller venues, mobile DJs and flexible booth setups.
Officially launching on 2 July 2026, the CDJ-1500X inherits many of the professional features found on the flagship CDJ-3000X while introducing new connectivity options and crowd engagement tools designed for today's DJs.
Designed for bars, boutique clubs, home studios and mobile performances, the CDJ-1500X offers the flexibility of a traditional multi-player setup while occupying significantly less space than larger professional units.
The player can be paired with a wide range of mixers and turntables, allowing DJs to build customised setups without compromising on professional performance. Its compact dimensions also make it easier to transport for touring artists and event organisers.
One of the biggest upgrades is the inclusion of the same 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen found on the CDJ-3000X.
The display allows DJs to browse larger music libraries more efficiently, preview waveforms before loading tracks and view up to 15 songs at once. New visual indicators also display vocal positions, BPM changes and phrase structures, helping performers make faster and more informed mixing decisions during live sets.
Playlist editing has also been integrated directly into the player, enabling DJs to reorganise playlists without returning to a laptop or exporting updated USB drives. The screen also supports both light and dark display modes for maximum visibility in any environment.
Built-in Wi-Fi allows users to access their rekordbox cloud library through rekordbox CloudDirectPlay, eliminating the need to rely solely on USB drives.
The player also supports music streaming through Apple Music, Beatport Streaming and TIDAL, giving DJs access to millions of tracks directly from the unit.
AlphaTheta has also introduced NFC touch login, allowing DJs to access their personal playlists and settings simply by tapping their smartphone against the player using the rekordbox mobile app.
The CDJ-1500X is the first AlphaTheta player to support CoBeat, a new audience interaction platform launching later this month.
Through a QR code generated by the DJ or venue, audience members can browse a selection of available tracks, vote for songs they'd like to hear and even submit requests directly to the DJ.
Requests appear on the player's browse screen during performances, while audience reactions and emoji responses are delivered to the DJ in real time, creating a more interactive connection between performer and crowd. DJs can also disable the feature whenever they prefer to focus solely on mixing.
Beyond its performance capabilities, the CDJ-1500X has been designed with versatility in mind.
Its matte black finish, customisable LED lighting with 12 colour options and optional side panels allow DJs and venues to tailor the player's appearance to suit different environments.
Other professional features include eight Hot Cue buttons, Beat Sync, Beat Jump, a Beat Loop control, a mid-sized jog wheel with rotation indicator and dual USB connectivity via USB-A and USB-C.
The launch represents another significant step for AlphaTheta as the company continues expanding its hardware ecosystem under its own brand identity.
Having built its reputation through decades of innovation in DJ technology, the company says the CDJ-1500X has been developed to make professional DJ performance more accessible while maintaining the reliability and workflow expected by working DJs around the world.
The CDJ-1500X is available from 2 July 2026, with a recommended retail price starting from €1,699 / £1,469 / US$1,599 (regional pricing applies).
