CALVIN HARRIS BREAKS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD WITH 1.6 MILLION-STRONG DJ SET
The Scottish DJ and producer has officially entered the record books after performing to an estimated 1.6 million people during São Paulo's Carnival celebrations earlier this year.
Calvin Harris has officially broken the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a DJ set by a single artist, following a performance in São Paulo, Brazil, earlier this year.
The Scottish DJ and producer performed to an estimated 1.6 million people in February, taking over the city's Rua da Consolação from a carnival float for his first performance in Brazil in more than a decade.
The enormous crowd was treated to a set packed with some of his biggest hits, including ‘This Is What You Came For’, ‘One Kiss’, ‘I Need Your Love’ and ‘We Found Love’, transforming the streets of São Paulo into a massive open-air dancefloor.
The performance was officially recognised by Guinness World Records on September 20, 2026, with Harris celebrating the achievement on Instagram.
"WOW I now have the world record for ‘largest attendance for a DJ set by a single artist’ only in Brazil!!! This was a truly insane day," he wrote.
The DJ also shared footage capturing the scale of the crowd, alongside images of the custom Brazil football shirt he wore during the performance, featuring the name ‘Calvinho’ across the back.
Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford described the achievement as a reflection of Harris' global influence, confirming that an estimated 1.6 million people attended the São Paulo performance.
The record marks another major milestone in Harris' career and highlights the extraordinary scale electronic music has reached, with a single DJ set bringing together more than a million people on the streets of Brazil.
