MINISTRY OF SOUND CLASSICAL RETURNS TO DUBAI OPERA THIS NOVEMBER
The 31-piece orchestra will reimagine dance classics from Faithless, Darude, Fatboy Slim and more at Dubai Opera on November 7
Ministry of Sound Classical is returning to Dubai for the third time, bringing some of dance music’s most recognisable tracks to Dubai Opera on Saturday, November 7.
Following a sold-out Dubai performance last year, the live show will once again combine electronic music with classical orchestration, featuring a 31-piece orchestra, vocalists and an immersive sound and light production.
Rather than a traditional DJ set, the concept takes tracks that helped define dancefloors through the 1990s and beyond and rebuilds them for a full live orchestral performance.
The November show will take audiences through a selection of club classics, with Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’, Dario G’s ‘Sunchyme’, Faithless’ ‘Insomnia’ and Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ among the tracks set to be reimagined on stage.
Each is rearranged for the live orchestra, bringing together the scale of a classical performance with music rooted firmly in club culture.
The concept draws directly from the legacy of London’s Ministry of Sound nightclub, which became a cornerstone of the UK house music scene after opening in the early 1990s and grew into one of dance music’s most recognisable brands.
The upcoming performance marks Ministry of Sound Classical’s third appearance in Dubai and follows its sold-out show at Dubai Opera last year.
Elsewhere, the production has sold out London’s Royal Albert Hall and appeared at festivals including Gone Wild Festival, The Big Feastival and Silverstone Festival.
Its return to Dubai will once again bring the worlds of electronic and classical music together, giving some of the biggest dance records of previous decades a very different setting.
Ministry of Sound Classical takes place at Dubai Opera on Saturday, November 7. Tickets start from AED 350 and are on sale now via Dubai Opera.
