NEW MALLORCA - ABU DHABI ROUTE SET TO BOOST SUMMER TRAVEL TO IBIZA
A new direct Etihad route launching this June will make reaching Ibiza from the UAE and Asia easier than ever.
Travel between Europe and the UAE is set to become significantly smoother this summer as Etihad Airways prepares to launch a new direct route connecting Mallorca and Abu Dhabi from June 12.
The new service will initially operate three times per week, with plans to expand to daily flights as demand grows. The route marks a strategic move for the airline, strengthening connections between the Balearic Islands and the UAE while opening new travel opportunities for both leisure and business travellers.
For those heading to the Mediterranean this season, the route also offers easier access to Ibiza, long considered one of Europe’s most sought-after summer destinations. With Mallorca acting as a key gateway, travellers from the UAE as well as Asia via Abu Dhabi will find it significantly more convenient to reach the White Isle and other Balearic hotspots.
Etihad has positioned the new connection as part of its broader strategy to promote Spain as a premium travel destination within its global network. The airline aims to support sustainable tourism growth while enhancing connectivity between Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
As summer travel demand continues to rise, the new Mallorca–Abu Dhabi route signals a growing appetite for seamless long-haul connections to Europe’s most iconic island destinations with Ibiza now closer than ever for travellers across the region.
