NEWS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED THIS OCTOBER

October is already delivering plenty of movement across music, nightlife and culture, with new concepts arriving in Dubai, major events locking in their return dates and fresh releases landing across electronic music.

From the next chapter of UNTOLD Dubai and Sole DXB’s new home to Beatport expanding its genre categories, here’s what’s been happening.

Dubai’s Casa Amor has entered a new chapter, becoming Casita by Casa Amor. The refreshed concept is built around music programming, long lunches and sundowners, continuing the venue’s Balearic-inspired approach while introducing a new identity for the season.

UNTOLD Dubai has confirmed the dates for its next UAE edition, with the festival returning from March 19 to 21, 2027. The next chapter will once again take place at Dubai Parks & Resorts, setting up another three-day run of music and large-scale festival production.

Beatport has launched Indie Tech as a dedicated genre category, giving the heavier and more club-focused side of indie dance its own space on the platform. The new category comes with a dedicated Top 100 chart and artist space, further separating the sound as its own corner of electronic music.

Sole DXB will return from December 11 to 13, bringing its mix of music, streetwear, art and culture to a new Dubai location. This year’s edition will move to The Square in Nad Al Sheba, giving the homegrown festival a new setting for its next chapter.

Photographer Mark McNulty is documenting more than three decades spent on the dancefloor with In Clubland, arriving November 5. The book brings together 550 photographs capturing ravers, DJs and nightlife across 35 years of club culture.

Cloonee has released his debut album, Are You Still You?, marking a major milestone for the house artist. Released on October 6, the 16-track project brings together a full-length body of work from one of house music’s biggest current names.
