The UK DJ and producer takes home a major win, marking a defining moment for underground club culture on a global stage.
SHERELLE has been crowned Best Electronic/Dance Act at the 2026 MOBO Awards, securing one of the night’s standout wins and further cementing her position as one of the most influential voices in contemporary electronic music.
The ceremony, held in Manchester as part of MOBO’s 30th anniversary celebrations, honoured excellence in music of Black origin across multiple genres with SHERELLE’s win highlighting the growing recognition of electronic and club music within the wider cultural landscape.
Her victory places her alongside a strong list of winners on the night, which included Olivia Dean, who led the awards with three major wins, as well as Central Cee, FLO and Ezra Collective across key categories.
SHERELLE has built a reputation for pushing high-energy, forward-thinking sounds, blending jungle, footwork and UK club influences into a style that has resonated globally. Her rise reflects a broader shift in electronic music, where underground scenes and grassroots movements are increasingly gaining mainstream visibility.
The award also signals a continued evolution for the MOBOs, which have expanded their recognition of electronic music in recent years, acknowledging its deep roots within Black music culture and its ongoing influence across global dancefloors.
For SHERELLE, the win represents more than just an accolade, it’s a milestone moment that underscores the impact of UK club culture on the international stage, and a sign that the next generation of electronic artists is firmly shaping the future of the genre.
