UAE-BASED DJ BREAKS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST SET AT SEA
Rodney Eid now holds the record for completing a 24-plus-hour offshore performance.
Talk about commitment to the party!
Rodney Eid, a UAE-based DJ and producer, took on the challenge as a personal milestone and a reflection of the journey that brought him to the country – a place he credits with reshaping both his life and career.
The marathon set tested physical endurance as much as focus, stretching through day and night before reaching an emotional close.
He ended the performance with his original track I Feel At Home, a song written as a tribute to the sense of belonging he has found in the Emirates, before closing with the UAE National Anthem.
For Rodney, the final moments were less about the record itself and more about marking gratitude for the community and environment that supported his growth as an artist.
The record attempt also carried a wider purpose. Rodney used the moment to support Beats for Brighter Futures, a humanitarian initiative launched in partnership with Dubai Cares, focused on improving access to education for children around the world.
While Guinness World Records often celebrate endurance and spectacle, this achievement stood out for its intention. A long-form DJ set, staged at sea, became a way to connect music, personal identity and social impact, showing how dance culture can extend beyond clubs and festivals into something more lasting.
Rodney, we salute you!
