5 DISCO BANGERS TO GET ON YOUR RADAR THIS SEPTEMBER
The disco bombs you need in your life right now.

From the basements of Blackpool’s Federation to the festival fields of Beat-Herder and Wilderness, Jaegerossa has lived and breathed disco for decades. His signature sound, a rich blend of crate-dug gems and upfront house fire, has earned him love from legends like Dave Lee ZR, Purple Disco Machine, and The Shapeshifters.
With fresh releases on the horizon via Fool’s Paradise and his own DIA label, he’s back with another round-up of the tracks lighting up his September.
Frederik Hendrik – Andere Landen EP
Sprechen
“Het Spiraal”
A bold opening gambit, six-and-a-half minutes of kinetic, spiraling disco propulsion that sounds like the lost child of a space control centre with Cerrone driving the desk, raised on Dutch radio and roller rinks. There’s a real physicality here, punchy, low-slung basslines tumble forward while glitched acid flecks flicker in the mix. It’s a track that earns its place in sweaty basements and festival tents alike, the kind of cut that turns heads mid-set and keeps feet moving with purpose.
“Andere Landen”
The title track is no b-side filler, it’s a deep, muscular chugger that simmers with late-night tension. It trades the velocity of the opener for a more nuanced ride through Italo-filtered synth work and tightly-wound rhythms. Think warm electrical pulses, motor-city grooves, and just enough analogue grime to keep it darkroom-friendly. It's disco, yes, but reimagined through a Blade Runner lens, noir, stylish, and slightly unhinged.
Hysteric – Discolifting 05 EP
Funkyjaws Music
Melbourne’s master of retro sleaze, Hysteric, returns with four expertly lifted floor-fillers on Funkyjaws Music, a label fast becoming the go-to for collectors of modern disco archaeology.
Kicking things off, Italo Mystery Theme is a low-lit cruise through the foggy end of the '80s all sultry vocals, shimmering guitars and stepping drums that conjure up chrome-tinted dreams and VHS fever. It's peak Hysteric: cheeky, cinematic, and dripping in vintage allure.
After Dark eases into breezier territory, serving up featherlight synths and air-kissed vocals that glide over a groove tight enough to pop a button. You can practically hear the shoulder pads swaying.
Flip the wax and Sugar Daddy Again gets naughty with snarling analogue bass, machine-funk claps, and spoken-word sass. It's gritty, sexy, and tailor-made for dimly lit dancefloors with mirrored ceilings.
Closing cut All Right dips into UK street soul with a disco heart, all glowing chords and after-hours heat, the kind of groove that wraps you up and doesn’t let go till sunrise.
With edits this classy, Hysteric doesn’t just dig in the crates, he seduces them.
Bustin’ Loose – Château d’Amour
The Disco Express
The glitterball glow of The Disco Express shines brighter than ever as label boss Bustin’ Loose drops Château d’Amour, a four-track, genre-swirling EP that’s equal parts retro fantasy and future-facing club energy.
Rooted in disco, funk, and soul, Bustin’ Loose (aka Tom Lilly) once again proves why he’s a driving force behind the UK’s nu disco revival. With backing from titans like Dimitri From Paris, Dave Lee, and Late Nite Tuff Guy, this release feels like a champagne-soaked love letter to dancefloor indulgence, equal parts Studio 54 and Peckham basement.
The title track “Château d’Amour” is pure velvet ibiza drenched sunset classic, a midtempo groover built on slinky guitars, warm Moog-ish bass and dreamy, breathy vocals that evoke gold lamé, misty club lighting, and knowing glances across the dancefloor. “Château d’Amour, the place to be / Château d’Amour, just you and me,” coos the hook, like an invitation to a secret rendezvous you never want to leave.
Across the rest of the EP expect a sonic palette that spans slick nu disco, funked-up house and tastefully oddball touches that keep things fresh for selectors and sweaty dancefloors alike.
This one’s for lovers, Pikes poolsode hedonists and mid tempo sultry sunrise lovers.
Shaka Loves You – I’d Like To Boogie
Bombstrikes
I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside Shaka Loves You and catching up with these two top-tier gents more than once over the past few years, and if there's one constant, it’s that they know exactly how to ignite a dancefloor.
Now they’re back with “I’d Like To Boogie”, the lead single from their upcoming Joints N Jams Vol. 3 compilation, and it's exploding straight out the gates. A certified disco-house detonator, the track is classic SLY: filtered loops, funk-laced basslines, tight 4/4 percussion and lashings of slinky keys all wrapped around a vocal hook so infectious it should come with a warning.
Hot on the heels of their recent Traxsource No.1, this one cements the Glasgow duo’s status as serious players in the modern funk-and-disco scene. It's unapologetically joyous, built for peak-time sweat, mirrorball moments, and hands-in-the-air euphoria.
As a teaser for a compilation stacked with heat from the likes of Illyus & Barrientos, Hotmood, Moodena, Young Pulse, Art of Tones, and Ray Mang, “I’d Like To Boogie” sets the tone with confidence. Polished, punchy and pure party full funk ahead.
We love Shaka Loves You!
That’s Jaegerossa’s pick of the disco bombs for September.
Whether you’re crate-digging, club-hopping, or poolside vibing, these cuts will keep your September soundtracked in style.
