GLOBAL UNDERGROUND CELEBRATES 30 YEARS WITH ‘THIRTY’ COMPILATION
The landmark electronic music label marks three decades with 30 exclusive tracks from Guy J, Nadia Ali, Frankey & Sandrino, Nicky Elisabeth, Spencer Brown and more
Global Underground is celebrating its 30th anniversary with THIRTY, a new compilation bringing together 30 artists for 30 brand-new and exclusive tracks.
Released on October 16, the project marks three decades since Global Underground launched in 1996. The label became known for capturing DJs and club culture through releases connected to cities and nightlife destinations around the world, while continuing to champion new sounds across electronic music.
THIRTY brings together a wide-ranging line-up of electronic artists, with several tracks from the project already making an impact ahead of its full release.
Four singles released from the compilation reached number one on Beatport, including Guy J’s Rise. Dave Seaman and Quivver also feature with Starship Disco, while Simon Vuarambon contributes Stamina and Trilucid & Phil Martyn join forces for Atlas.
Elsewhere on the record, Nicky Elisabeth appears with Distant, Spencer Brown delivers Storm Chasing and Yulia Niko teams up with Eli Fola on Bebey. One of the project’s standout collaborations sees Nadia Ali link up with Frankey & Sandrino for Night Sky.
Other artists across the 30-track collection include Dusty Kid, Rodriguez Jr., Danny Howells, Nick Warren & Nicolas Rada, Hunter/Game, Christian Smith and Jamie Stevens, Fur Coat and Zoo Brazil, Gai Barone, Helsloot, D-Nox and André Moret.
Founded in 1996, Global Underground built its identity around taking DJs beyond the booth and documenting electronic music through the cities and clubbing destinations surrounding it.
Three decades later, THIRTY brings that history into the present, with the label highlighting the renewed momentum around progressive electronic music and a new generation of artists working across melodic, progressive and underground sounds.
“We are beyond excited to be releasing our THIRTY album to the world, 30 original exclusive tracks from 30 amazing artists,” says Global Underground founder Andy Horsfield, describing the compilation as a celebration of three decades in dance music.
Alongside its digital and streaming release, THIRTY is available as a double-CD edition featuring all 30 tracks across two DJ mixes.
Vinyl collectors can pick up a three-disc coloured heavyweight vinyl edition housed in a gatefold sleeve, while a larger Collector’s Edition features all 30 tracks unmixed across five 12-inch records, alongside the double-CD format and additional bonus content.
