KRAFTWORK ANNOUNCE RADIO-ACTIVITY 50TH ANNIVERSARY VINYL REISSUE

Electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk have announced a 50th anniversary reissue of their landmark album Radio-Activity, celebrating one of the most influential records in electronic music history.

Originally released in 1975, Radio-Activity marked a turning point for the group, widely recognised as their first fully electronic album and a concept-driven project exploring themes of radio communication and nuclear energy.

To commemorate five decades of the record, the album will be reissued on May 15 in multiple formats. These include a limited-edition 12-inch vinyl picture disc featuring the 2009 remastered version, as well as a Blu-ray audio edition with newly updated mixes and exclusive anniversary artwork. A digital version of the project will also be made available across streaming platforms.

The Blu-ray release introduces a new Dolby Atmos mix, reconstructed from the original 16-track tapes by founding member Ralf Hütter alongside engineer Fritz Hilpert, offering a refreshed and immersive take on the classic record.

Alongside the reissue, Kraftwerk will mark the milestone with a 17-date multimedia tour across the UK and Ireland, their first extended run in the region in nearly a decade. The shows are set to take place throughout May and June, bringing the group’s iconic audiovisual performances back to live audiences.

As one of the most influential acts in modern music, Kraftwerk’s impact stretches far beyond electronic circles, shaping genres from techno and house to hip-hop and synth-pop.

Fifty years on, the reissue of Radio-Activity serves as both a celebration of the band’s legacy and a reminder of the record’s lasting influence, a project that helped lay the foundations for the sound of contemporary electronic music.
