LISBON DANCE SUMMIT SET TO TRANSFORM THE CITY INTO A GLOBAL ELECTRONIC MUSIC HUB

Lisbon is positioning itself as one of Europe’s most exciting emerging destinations for electronic music culture, as the Lisbon Dance Summit returns from April 29 to May 2 with an expanded programme of talks, workshops and city-wide events.

Taking place at Casa Capitão, the summit has quickly established itself as Portugal’s leading dance music conference, bridging the gap between the local scene and the global industry. Across four days, the event will bring together artists, labels, promoters, agents, media and cultural leaders to explore the creative, economic and structural forces shaping electronic music today.

At its core, Lisbon Dance Summit is designed as a platform for dialogue and collaboration. This year’s programme features more than 80 speakers from across the global scene, including Enrico Sangiuliano, Joyce Muniz, Mathew Jonson, Juliet Fox, Anja Schneider, Sébastien Léger and Wehbba, alongside key industry figures from organisations such as DJ Mag, Billboard and Amsterdam Dance Event.

Topics across the summit will span artist development, technology, market expansion, diversity, investment and the evolving relationship between music culture and business, reflecting the increasingly complex ecosystem surrounding electronic music worldwide.

A major highlight of the programme is the Studio Hub, curated by Joyce Muniz, which introduces a hands-on educational element to the conference. Across three days, the space will host workshops and sessions led by active artists and professionals, covering everything from music production and performance techniques to artificial intelligence and audiovisual practices. Featuring contributors such as Alex Stein, Branko, Mathew Jonson and Moullinex, the Studio Hub aims to connect technical knowledge with real-world creative experience.

Beyond the conference itself, Lisbon Dance Summit will expand across the city with more than 20 associated events and parties, transforming Lisbon into a multi-venue festival environment. Inspired by the format of Amsterdam Dance Event, the initiative empowers local promoters and organisers to curate their own programming, creating a city-wide celebration of electronic music culture.

For co-founders Jesper Skibsby and Nuno da Silva Carvalho, the vision is clear: to establish Lisbon as a global meeting point for electronic music while supporting the development of the Portuguese scene. By creating structured and inclusive spaces for exchange, the summit aims to strengthen connections between artists, professionals and communities, while opening new opportunities for collaboration and growth.

As electronic music continues to evolve globally, Lisbon Dance Summit represents a significant step in positioning the city at the centre of that conversation, not just as a destination, but as a driving force within the culture.

With early access registration now open, all eyes are on Lisbon this spring as it moves closer to becoming Europe’s next major hub for dance music.
