MAIN CONTRACTOR CONFIRMED FOR SPHERE ABU DHABI

ALEC Group has been awarded a $1.7 billion contract to oversee the development of Sphere Abu Dhabi, the immersive entertainment destination set to open on Yas Island in 2029. Developed by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Sphere Entertainment Co, this $1.7 billion project marks the first global expansion of the iconic Las Vegas landmark.

The Sphere (officially Sphere at the Venetian Resort) is a groundbreaking, $2.3 billion music and entertainment arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Standing 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide, it is the world's largest spherical structure. It is renowned for its immersive 16K-resolution screens and highly advanced multi-sensory experience

The Exosphere: The exterior is covered by 580,000 square feet of programmable LED displays, making it the largest LED screen in the world. It regularly displays everything from massive eyeballs and emojis to holiday themes and brand advertisements.

Massive Interior Display: Inside, a wraparound 16K LED screen wraps up, over, and around the audience, creating a completely enveloping visual space.

Sensory and Audio Tech: The arena features a state-of-the-art beamforming audio system with over 160,000 speakers, giving everyone identical, crystal-clear sound. The venue also incorporates 4D physical effects like haptic seating (seats that vibrate with the action), wind, and scent
