UAE USERS OF NATIVE INSTRUMENTS LEFT WONDERING ABOUT THEIR SUBSCRIPTIONS

Music technology company Native Instruments has entered preliminary insolvency proceedings, according to reports from Create Digital Music – a development that’s already prompting questions across the UAE’s DJ and production community.

Documents seen by CDM list Prof. Dr. Torsten Martini as the preliminary insolvency administrator overseeing the Berlin-based company’s restructuring. Under the current process, Native Instruments’ assets are expected to be sold in some form, with key decisions now handled externally.

For DJs and producers in the UAE, the news lands close to home. Native Instruments’ tools, including Traktor, Maschine and the Kontrol controller range, are widely used across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, from club booths and home studios to academies and production spaces.

As the process unfolds, UAE-based Native Instruments users are now left wondering what this means for their existing software subscriptions, updates and long-term platform support.

For users in the region, uncertainty now centres on licensing continuity, future development and whether subscription-based services will remain unchanged.

Founded in 1999, Native Instruments has played a defining role in modern electronic music production and DJ culture. As restructuring continues, the UAE’s electronic music community will be watching closely to see what happens next to one of the industry’s most influential tech platforms.
