DJ twins sit down with Mixmag UAE to discuss their journey behind the decks, the connection that shapes their sound, and what it takes to build a career in electronic music side by side.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
Our names are Anna and Kristina. We're twin sisters, the DJ TWINS. We've been involved in rhythmic gymnastics since early childhood and hold the title of Master of Sport. After sports, we turned to music. We've always loved electronic music, the stage, and audiences. It's our great love.
How would you describe your sound and artistic identity right now?
Our music is pure joy with the desire to dance. We don't just put on tracks; we control emotions, so everyone on the dance floor can feel light and energized. Our energy is positive, and we fill the room with it from the first beat to the last.
What inspired you to start your journey as a DJ and producer?
We were inspired to begin our journey as a DJ and producer by our mother, a singer who introduced us to the music industry and continues to inspire us to this day. We are grateful to her with all our hearts, and her support is our greatest motivation to move forward.
What's your approach when creating a new track?
We start with emotion, what mood we want to create. We follow trends. And we always check to see if it makes you want to dance to it ourselves.
Who are some artists that have influenced your sound?
There's no one specific artist who's influenced our sound. We listen to a lot of artists and learn something useful from each one. But we especially like David Guetta.
What has been a standout moment in your career so far?
One of the highlights of our career was performing at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Ten thousand spectators – it was unforgettable.
What's next for The Twins, any upcoming releases or goals?
Our plans are to release as many hits and new music as possible. We're heading off on a tour of China in the new year. And, of course, we dream of playing at the world's most famous festivals.
Are you looking forward to playing in the UAE, have you been here before?
We love Dubai—it's our second home. We really enjoy the local audience. We've performed here several times and are looking forward to the next time.
